For men the waistline limit is 33.5 inches and for women it is 35.4 inches. Penalties include dieting guidance and re-education. Can you say METABO-that’s the preferred word for overweight in Japan.

Do you know the signs of heat exhaustion? It doesn’t have to be summer to experience heat exhaustion. Here are the signs: Nausea, muscle cramping, fatigue, vomiting, headache, dizziness and uncoordinated movement. Prevent this from happening by drinking enough fluids, getting into the shade and or cool area, and being careful not to over exercise in the extreme heat. Cool downs after practices are also recommended.

Here we go again, another study has shown that sleep problems affect what we eat and the way we eat. A study published in the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine (American Academy of Sleep Medicine) and performed by Mary Engle-Friedman, Ph.D. showed that the amount of sleep we get, affects our general health, emotional well being, mental abilities, productivity and performance. Lack of sleep may make us eat more fast foods, more restaurant prepared foods rather than eating at home, and may be a cause of weight gain. The bottom line-don’t skip your sleep.

How much exercise should I get?  Did you know that the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that: boys should take at least 11,000 steps a day, girls should take at least 13,000 steps a day and children should limit total screen time (television and video games) to two hours a day.
