Did you know that movie goers will eat more popcorn when it is served in a large container! That’s right, Brian Wansink, PhD and Junyong Kim, in a study published in the Journal of Nutrition Education and Behavior Volume 37, September 2005, found that even if the popcorn is stale, movie goers will eat more popcorn when it is served in a large container. Bottom line is: portion control-eat fresh popcorn from a small container, you will eat less!!!

Washing fruits and vegetables may not be enough: Did you know that there are certain types of bacteria that can hide from basic washing techniques? Well new research from Brendan A. Niemira, Ph.D. a microbiologist with the USDA’s Agricultural Research Service in Pennsylvania suggests irradiation which exposes food to a source of electron beams can disrupt the genetic material of living cells and destroy the invaders. Did you know that according to the USDA, in the year 2000, each American consumed an average of 152 pounds of caloric sweeteners. High Fructose Corn Syrup made up 63.8 percent of that number. Back in 1950, Americans had a zero consumption of HFCS (High Fructose Corn Syrup)!!!!
